The EdenWorld Conservation Initiative successfully held the Community Farmers’ Trees Empowerment, Training, and Mobilization, along with Community Children Mobilization and Forestry Education event on Saturday 29th April 2023, in the Asana Community, Oke-Igbo, Ondo State, Nigeria. The event was a resounding success, with a massive turnout of community members.

The event kicked off with community advocacy, where the EdenWorld Team met with the community leaders and other stakeholders emphasized the importance of sustainable agriculture and forestry practices. This was followed by over farmers’ engagement and support, where farmers received valuable training on sustainable forestry and forest restoration practice. They also received support in the form of over 500 seedlings of Terminalia Ivorensis, which they could plant on their farms, where each of the 100 farmers had access to 5 seedlings each.

The community children mobilization and forestry education program was also a huge success. Over 100 community children were trained on sustainable environment and forestry education. The children were enthusiastic about the training, and they showed a keen interest in learning about the environment and how they could contribute to preserving it.

During the event, over 300 educational materials were provided to school children. These materials promoted further education on sustainable agriculture and forestry practices. The children were excited about the educational materials, and they showed great interest in learning more about sustainable practices , learning the basics of environmental protection and personal hygiene.

Overall, the event was a huge success, with community members showing great enthusiasm and support. The event helped promote sustainable agriculture and forestry practices within the Asana community. The focus on farmers’ trees empowerment, training, and mobilization, and community children mobilization and forestry education, was a vital aspect of promoting sustainable practices in the community.
