  2. Bringing modern techniques to farmers to promote climate-smart agriculture that will improve farmers yield while promoting soil health, and to ensure the sustainable use of biodiversity.

  3. To promote education in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem regreening, sustainable food production, and policies in these sectors.

OUR ACTIVITIES

What We Do

Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing

Our education comes in different ways:

  1. We carry out trainings and education in climate change, ecosystem restoration, and biodiversity conservation for youth and children. Our program helps young minds to understand the causes and consequences of global environmental issues, how they can act to address this challenge, how their resilience can be strengthened, and empowers them to take appropriate actions to adopt more sustainable lifestyles. Our Educational Program is in three section (Sensitization, workshop, and tree planting training). During the workshop section, we divide the students into groups and give them current environmental problems to solve. This is to boost their critical thinking ability in preferring solutions. We also practically train them on how to plant and nurse trees, birding’s, and the benefit the benefits ecosystem provides; the experience will ultimately connect students to nature and improve their awareness and roles in the conservation of biodiversity, and the use of trees as the cheapest nature-based solution in tackling climate change and protecting life on land. Our goal is to have raise 60000 climate ambassadors in schools by 2030.
  2. We carry out online weekly live event to educate and update people’s knowledge in the area biodiversity conservation, ecosystem regreening, and sustainable food production. We connect young people with experts, youths, and knowledge holders to build their knowledge base on global climate and biodiversity issues.
  3. We create platforms for youth to exchange information and ideas for knowledge sharing and to build their capacity in broad spectrum of global climate and biodiversity issues.

Ecosystem Regreening

We do this in different broad ways;
  • Tree planting for landscape restoration, biodiversity conservation, and to meet human needs. This also includes tree planting on farmlands to enhance agricultural landscape. Our goal is to have planted 30 million tree species by 2030. Also, to render forest education training to forest dependent communities.

  • We also offer marine habitat education to communities, to protect and restore aquatic life. Including ocean clean-up project.

  • We offer waste/water education in communities to promote healthy water use and prevent exposure to countless diseases. Including street clean-up project.

Advocacy

Our advocacy runs to prevent the adversity and raise awareness of climate change, protect diversity of species functions, and to increase ecosystem structure.

OUR RESULTS

What We Have Done

  • In 2016, we carried out community tree planting /forest education projects in Ijari Community, Oyo state. Planted 7000 seedlings successfully in houses, rural roads, and religious centers.

  • In 2017, we were able to educate 1332 students in 2 secondary schools on climate education

  • In 2018, we started with the domestication of tropical tree species and fruits tree species whereby we educated 202 farmers in three different communities and gave out 5000 seedlings to farmers.

  • In 2019, we trained 5607 students to be climate ambassadors in 7 schools and planted 5000 seedlings in schools and environment, distributed 500 seedlings to farmers for planting on their farm land in Ile Oluji, Ondo state, and educated them to adopt agroforestry system. We also carried out waste/water education in two communities in Ibadan, and online trainings for university students and graduates.

  • In 2020, we had tweet chat with 5 professionals to share their expertise, had online webinar as covid-19 training, and educated and trained 200 students as Climate ambassadors in two secondary schools.

So far, the Organization has planted 18500 seedlings, educated 7139 students on climate education and tree planting at schools, educated 202 farmers, carried out one community tree planting, domesticated 20,000 seedlings and organized several trainings and webinar. Through your help and support, the organization would be able to do more in achieving our goals.
